The site was originally conceived to be a vehicle to publish my family tree but in researching this tree, I discovered that the name Heathcote (or one of its many derivitives) was widely used throughout the Western World and that its origins are fascinating in itself.  As well as the surname, there are several locations called Heathcote. I know of at least two (one in USA and one in Australia) Are there more? What is the history of these places, I assume they were named after a person called Heathcote, but who were they and what was their story?

 

There is a forum which allows you to connect with other people with an interest in the Heathcote name. You could even find new or long lost relatives on these forums or simply communicate with others with similar interests. If you have some news that you wish to tell the Heathcote community then all registered members are able to write an article and have that published in the main web site.  Finally you can view my own family tree which shows my own line of the Heathcote family which is based around the small town of Sandbach in Cheshire (UK).
